HelpHow Edison measures
Revenue per available bay-hour
Booking revenue divided by the bay-hours you could have sold, using your real opening hours.
Revenue per available bay-hour is booking revenue divided by the bay-hours you could have sold. The bay-hours you could have sold are each bay multiplied by the hours you were open, added up across every date in the period you are looking at. RevPABH is the short name for it on golf simulator venues.
On a racquet venue the same figure is called revenue per available court hour. It works the same way, with courts in place of bays.
Your real schedule is the denominator
Edison reads your actual schedule rather than assuming one fixed set of hours. A weekday you are closed counts zero hours. Each weekday uses its own opening hours. A one-off closure date counts zero.
Dates before your opening day are left out of the figure entirely, so setup weeks and test bookings never pull the number around. You set your opening day in Settings.
A booking on a closed date still counts
If a booking lands on a date you were closed, such as a private event, its money still counts as revenue. It adds nothing to the hours you could have sold, because those hours were never on sale.
Where courts are linked, so that a big court and its halves are one surface, that surface is counted once. See the article on linked courts for how.
Worked example
One week at a four-bay venue
- 1Open Monday to Friday 2 PM to 10 PM (8 hours) and Saturday 10 AM to 10 PM (12 hours), closed Sunday
- 2Weekdays: 4 bays x 8 hours x 5 days = 160 bay-hours
- 3Saturday: 4 bays x 12 hours = 48 bay-hours
- 4Sunday: closed, 0 bay-hours
- 5Available: 208 bay-hours
- 6Booking revenue for the week: $5,200
$5,200 / 208 = $25 per available bay-hour
Made-up round numbers, chosen to show the arithmetic. This is not a result from any venue.
